While most other manufacturers cast or forge their bottom bracket tools, we machine ours. Forging is stronger, but it lacks the precision that machining provides. Whenever you’re working with anodised surfaces, great care is needed to avoid scuffing, nicking or scratching them. That can be almost impossible with some spanner-style tools and difficult with other loose-fitting sockets.

The most distinctive feature of this tool is the central boss, which is the same size as the crank spindle. It gives you a second point of contact, preventing the tool from slipping off the part when you’re trying to remove stubborn cups.

This double-sided socket is designed to work with the newer Shimano DA-9000/XTR-BB93 bottom bracket, as well as the 6800 Ultegra and 5800 105 11-speed groupsets (BBR-60).
