Whilst most other manufacturers mould or forge their bottom bracket tools, we machine ours. Forging is indeed stronger but it lacks the precision that machining gives you. Whenever you're dealing with anodised surfaces, great care must be taken to prevent these surfaces from being damaged, nicked and scratched. This can be almost impossible with some wrench-style tools and difficult with other loose sockets.
The most unique feature of this tool is the inner nub, this nub in the centre of the tool is the same size as the crank spindle. What this does is give you a second point of contact that prevents the tool from locking out of the part when you're trying to remove stubborn cups.
This double-sided socket is designed to work with the new Shimano DA-9000/XTR-BB93 bottom bracket as well as 6800 Ultegra and 5800 105 11spd groupsets (BBR-60).
Not compatible with previous 10-speed versions. See BB Common.
