Abbey Tools Suspension Top Cap Sockets
Description

Suspension service is a speciality in bicycle repair and requires specialist tools to perform this work. One of the things any factory technician will tell you is nice to have are sockets specifically made or modified for the low-profile hex on the top of each fork leg. The lead or chamfer on a standard socket will significantly reduce the contact between the tool and the part and can easily scratch or deform these nuts. For years, shops have been grinding their sockets to remove the chamfer. The problem is that you often end up with a loose socket that is still prone to chewing these delicate parts. That's why we started from scratch.

We made our sockets from billet aluminium to rigorous tolerances to keep these parts in good condition. Fully machined with zero lead, they make the speciality that is suspension service a little easier. They feature a 3/8" square drive for use with your favourite torque wrench as well as finger splines to help run the top caps into the fork legs with those oil-soaked hands. We also kept them short (1" or 25mm for all sizes) to reduce the risk of them coming off the top cap under torque.

Available in 7 individual sizes and a 6-socket set for most modern suspension forks on the market.

Socket set comprising: 24, 26, 27, 28, 30 and 32
