We regularly receive questions about bearing removal tools and they're finally here. Best of all, there's no hammer involved!
When cartridge bearings became common on bikes in the mid-90s, they didn't come with tools to service them. I feel like for at least a decade we installed bearings with a random socket that was close to the right size and removed them with a hammer and punch. Over the years, tools have improved and we've now made another big step forward in bearing removal.
The extractors use an expanding cone that goes behind the bearing and allows you to remove it whilst tightening the nut. This allows the bearing to be inserted into the black cup smoothly with minimum effort. No hammer, no punch, and most importantly no damage to your parts. Make sure to watch the video instructions to see how to use this tool correctly.

Compatible with bearing outer diameters from 24 to 37 millimetres
Commonly used for hubs and suspension linkage bearings
These extractors started their life as a Noble Tools item and when they closed in 2023, we acquired the design and brought them back into production. The design is unchanged and the parts are backwards compatible with tools made by Noble.
