More power? Check. Better traction? Absolutely. Less shifting? Yeah. Funky irregular pedal stroke? Not with Wolf Tooth PowerTrac Elliptical™ (PTE) chainrings. Our unique design means a slightly less ovalised ring (10%) with less aggressive timing (112°) than competitors' versions; any change to your pedal stroke is imperceptible to most riders, yet they still deliver the inherent POWER and TRACTION benefits of oval chainrings.

It's like having two chainrings in one! With PowerTrac Elliptical rings, the larger diameter section of the ring engages with the chain at the optimal point on the downstroke, or "Power Zone", - between 1-5 and 7-11 on a clock face - to take advantage of your body's natural biomechanical POWER: For example, in this section, a 34t PTE ring is equivalent to a 36t round ring. Similarly, in the "recovery zone" (11-1 and 5-7), the smallest section of the PTE ring engages, maximising EFFICIENCY in the weakest part of the pedal stroke; here the 34t PTE ring is equivalent to a 32t round ring.

Additionally, the above provides smoother and more efficient pedal rotation, meaning better TRACTION. More stable torque on the rear wheel means less slippage in the "power zone", whilst pedalling is easier during the "recovery zone", allowing you to maintain your momentum.

Compatibility

• These direct mount chainrings will replace your existing chainring and spider, which are fixed via 3 bolts at the rear of the spider near the spindle. You will use these same 3 bolts to attach the Wolf Tooth SDM® chainring. Please note that SRAM 12spd Red and Force AXS use a different 8-bolt mounting interface which is not compatible with these chainrings.
• Also compatible with Cane Creek eeWing cranksets.
• There are 3 offsets:
• Standard Road/CX/Gravel: 6mm offset for cyclocross and road crank applications with 47mm chainline
• Standard MTB: 6mm offset for non-Boost MTB, GXP and long spindle BB30 cranks for 49mm chainline
• Boost: 3mm offset for 52mm chainline 
• BB30: 0mm offset for BB30 short spindle cranks for a 49mm chainline
• Fat Bikes: If you plan to use it on an X9 or XX1 Fat Bike crankset with 190/197 rear hub spacing, use the 0 offset spacer. If your fat bike has 170/177 rear hub spacing, use the standard 6mm offset
• Praxis Works Road/CX cranks use the 6mm offset. Praxis Works mountain cranks use the 3mm offset for their DM-A and the 0mm offset for their DM-B chainrings.
• If you have a BB30 crankset (30mm diameter aluminium spindle), the measurement illustrated below will help you determine whether it is a long or short spindle.
