There are plenty of simple and cheap ways to dish wheels, but where's the fun in that? Our new Harbor Gauge is simple, quick to use and offers all the modern compatibility you need. 

 These gauges are entirely machined from large aluminium billets to a final shape and precision that is as pleasant to use as it is to look at. Compatible with wheels from 20 to 29 inches and all hub combinations. Stand-off feet are included to check dishing with the tyre in place, even large ones. The gauge uses a unique spring mechanism to drop the piston. Press that little brass button at the front and the piston will drop onto the hub face. No archaic time-sucking threaded indicators here!

Perhaps the best thing about the Harbor Gauge is the story behind it. The tool started as a computer model like most of our tools, but that's also as far as it went for a few years, until a fateful email from the other side of the world. Tracy Rome contacted us to enquire about a surprise birthday gift for her husband Dave's upcoming 30th birthday. Apparently, she had forgotten it the previous year and wanted to make the outstanding day something to remember. So, after a few secret spy photos of Dave's existing tool collection, we presented her with what would become the Harbor Gauge. We built this first prototype and commissioned a custom walnut case for it and shipped it to Sydney where the Romes live. It was a special morning to receive a bespoke tool from your favourite bicycle tool company. At the time, it was one of a kind and is a favourite in a rather extensive tool collection. Dave said the tool resembles Sydney's famous Harbor Bridge and that's where the name comes from.
