The eeSilk stem is articulated to reduce rider fatigue by dampening vibrations from the ground. The maximum travel is 20 mm, an elastomer is placed between the body and the part fixed to the steerer. The elastomer density varies across five models (Extra Soft, Soft, Medium, Medium/Firm and Firm). In addition, an easily accessible two-position lever on top of the stem allows you to activate or deactivate the suspension.
The eeSilk stem is therefore very versatile and adaptable according to the surface. The lever allows riders to use the stem in the soft position and then lock it for pedalling out of the saddle, for example.
The eeSilk stem is available in black in three lengths: 80 mm, 90 mm and 100 mm. Each eeSilk stem is supplied with three elastomers (also available separately) whose firmness varies depending on the stem length. Changing an elastomer and testing your preference is very simple, it does not require removing the handlebars.
Cane Creek recommends riding first with the elastomer that is installed as standard to get an idea. Then, the rider can switch to a softer or firmer elastomer depending on their preference and riding style.
